Performance of ABS sheet

ABS sheet is a new material in sheet industry. Its full name is acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymer plate. Acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene is a kind of polymer with large output and wide use. It organically unifies various properties of PS, SAN and BS, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, hardness and rigidity balance.

ABS has excellent mechanical properties and excellent impact strength, and can be used at very low temperatures. ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under medium load and speed. The creep resistance of ABS is greater than that of PSF and PC, but less than that of PA and POM. The bending strength and compression strength of ABS are poor in plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly affected by temperature.

ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkali and various acids, but soluble in ketones, aldehydes, chlorinated hydrocarbons, by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil corrosion will produce stress cracking. ABS has poor weather resistance and is easy to degrade under the action of ultraviolet light. After six months outdoors, the impact strength was reduced by half.

ABS sheet has excellent impact strength, good dimensional stability, dyeability, good forming processability, high mechanical strength, high rigidity, low water absorption, good corrosion resistance, simple connection, non-toxic and tasteless, excellent chemical properties and electrical insulation performance. Heat resistant deformation, low temperature impact toughness is high. It is also a hard material, not easy to scratch, not easy to deformation. Low water absorption; High dimensional stability. Conventional ABS sheet is not very white, but the toughness is very good, can be cut by a shearing machine, can also be punched with a mold.

The thermal deformation temperature of ABS is 93-118 ℃, and the product can be raised about 10℃ after annealing. ABS can still show certain toughness at -40℃ and can be used at -40~100℃.

Among them, transparent ABS board transparency is good, polishing effect is good, is the alternative to the choice of PC board material. Compared with acrylic fiber, it has good toughness and can meet the requirements of fine processing. The disadvantage is that transparent ABS is more expensive.
